Water Quality

PPS schools now have some of the lowest lead in water levels in the nation, thanks to the installation of bond-funded drinking water stations. Each designated drinking water access was sampled and tested prior to its release for use.  Water test results now greatly exceed state and federal standards by achieving an average of less than one part per billion (.01ppb).

Drinking water stations including a bubbler, bottle filler and faucets in designated locations with highly-effective 3M lead filters were installed at all 93 schools.

This innovative solution was developed by the PPS Water Quality Team and pilot tested before being deployed across the district. The approach avoided expensive, disruptive and sometimes ineffective replacement of plumbing in the walls.

The district wide rollout of the drinking water stations was completed in 2025.
